We’re sewing back
into South Africa

The SA clothing manufacturing industry has been in steady decline and was negatively impacted by various factors, both at home and abroad. Thousands of local textile industry workers lost their jobs and recovery has been hampered by imports, corruption and cheaper labour in neighbouring countries.

What started as a dream to improve South Africa’s informal clothing economy, became reality. After 2 years of test case studies The Clothing Fix received it’s first official order from McDonald’s South Africa.

The Clothing Fix is the brainchild of Brendon Bain, Malcolm Herbert and Joshua Cox, and is supported through incubation by Sapphire (one of SA’s largest corporate clothing suppliers) and another successful social enterprise, Fix Forward.

The Clothing Fix is reshaping the South African textile industry by empowering independent CMTs to become suppliers to major corporations.
